Katana ROM Features:
  • Deodexed - zipaligned - busybox - rooted
  • Barebones debloated (Get Gapps from play store & LG bloat apps from my deodexed bloat zips)
  • Replaced part of settings LG skin with stock android
  • Settings font changed from black to dark grey and sharpened.
  • Replaced most of LG teal blue with Katana blue
  • Removed carrier text from lockscreen & notification dropdown
  • QuickSettings flashlight mod
  • Recovery & SuperSU menu shortcut mod
  • Stock android battery with percentage
  • Cyanogenmod AudioFX or Dolby Atmos EQs
  • SD fix
  • Manual camera mod
  • Screen density (304)
  • Support for all apps in split window
  • Disabled headset loud volume warning
  • TCP tweak
  • Katana boot animation
  • Xposed framework
  • Icons used: Polycon & Candycons
  • Weather widget used: Chronus

Katana Kernel Features:
  • Built from source code with linaro optimized toolchain
  • GPU overclocked to 450 mhz (for improved gaming performance)
  • CPU undervolt on lower frequencies (for saving battery when idle or screen off)
  • Added HyperX governor and set to default (very fast)
  • Added Conservative governor (for battery saving)
  • Added SIO and FIOPS schedulers
  • Lowered transition latency for Ondemand governor from 10mil to 9mil (for smoothness)
  • Running kernel mode NEON
  • -O2 optimized (might go -O3 on next update)
  • New logger interface "/sys/kernel/logger_mode" (0 = disable & 1 = enabled) 0 is default. Ask on forum how to use.
  • cflags optimizations (-mtune=cortex-a53 -mfpu=neon-vfpv4 -fgraphite -mfloat-abi=hard) and many more.
  • Noatime for reduced overhead
  • SE linux permissive
  • Disabled LG Root Check Tool

I'll be testing on Tmo and report back :)
Downloading right now...

EDIT : Is a No go :( , doesn't pass the LG apps EULA screen goes black and restarts back to the setup screen. Darrnnn i was really looking forward to it.

i couldnt get past that either but it was because i didnt follow directions. i did a factory reset but then i proceeded to wipe everything like i usually do (wiped everything in advanced wipe AND formatted data). so i restored my backup and went back and only did the factory reset as per the instructions...then i installed the rom again and voila, it installed no problem


i should mention that i have a metro variant, but im betting it was simply the fact i didnt follow the directions

I tried it and ran into some problems. I know I followed the instructions good enough because they're pretty simple (Thanks GT) but the first time I flashed this I couldn't text message anyone however I could call use data. Then as I kept using the phone my apps stopped working so I went into TWRP and wiped dalvik cache, un installed and reinstalled the apps but that didn't work so I reflashed the ROM and this time I would get a very glitch lockscreen and my dialer, messaging and apps (other than stock apps) stopped working. Am I doing something wrong? I keep following the instructions maybe I should do an advanced wipe? Anyways other than these things I ran into the ROM is VERY snappy :D
 
to those of you having problems, are you coming from the stock rom? if not, hopefully you have a backup of the stock rom...i would suggest wiping everything and restoring the stock 5.11 10j rom...then proceed to follow the directions for flashing this rom

i'll redo the steps again (i did followed the first time) but this time i'll go back to stock and reflash Katana ;)

P.S. @GameTheory is OTG enable by default ? just wondering :p and if you are planning on OC feature :D

EDIT : Ok got it working with Tmo Variant ( yeyy :D ) just for those who want to try Katana make sure to flash T-mobile-Bootstack after flashing the Katana Rom if not will be getting some system Messages and your TWRP will not read your previews/current Backups and be a little messy don't know why that happen (i was worry about that 'till realize about you include the Metro Bootstack with the Katana :) )

No it does not since the metro kdz works on t-mo stylo and t-mo kdz works on metro stylo. In other words they are identical phones. Just follow the listed intructions.
 
I got this phone Wednesday and I don't want to flash CM because I want everything to work, so I'm flashing now and just wanted to drop by and say THANK YOU. I appreciate any and all work you decide to put into this phone.
