This is a beta release of PAC-ROM for the Zte Awe so please don't expect this to be 100% stable. Before flashing this rom I recommend you make a backup just in case. Please report and bugs you encounter, preferably with a logcat.

This may be irrelevant to the ROM, but does anyone else get incredibly annoyed with that damn mobogenie app that wants to download every time you go to Dev-host?

Yes, so much, though I've begun to tune it out, and subconsciously hit cancel before I even realize I just read "mobo genie".
 
I have tried carbon and this rom along with the cm11 build. I think I like this one the most though I have not tried slimkat yet as it is reported that sound doesn't work. This rom has basically all the features of the others in one. It runs well for all the options it has. Going to flash back to it now from awe inspired rom 2.9 now. Would use it all the time if i could get my talkatone to work correctly.

What is talkatone? Can you get a log when you have the audio issues?

Talkatone is a program i use to make free phone calls and receive them over wifi. I have noticed that it always crashes if i have hardware echo cancellation enabled. I disable it and it doesn't force close. The audio issue i will try yo narrow don some more. Basically the person i am talking to has an echo and i don't. I can play with the settings to reduce it but can't get it to eliminate it. With stock and awe inspired rom 2.9 i don't have to change any settings.

I use voice+ to use my google voice number to call my talkatone number which then calls the person i want to talk to. This way i bypass there free 25 minute outbound limitation. The call quality and things like echo or too low or high of volume are eliminated when i use talkatone vs grooveip. Saves me from explaining to the one i am calling how it works lol. I will get back to you after my phone charges and i get back on pacrom. I have this problem also with cm11 and carbon. I can't get slimkat to flash but i will make a post in that thread for it. Thanks!

I like this rom a lot but does anyone now how to disable the split screenthingabob? lol. It crashes my apps a lot and they don't save there data. Could be becuase i am restoring them to system from slimkat using nandroid manager but i was getting this error before i even started paying around with rerstoring apps to system.

I think I settings disable phablet/tablet mode.

I found the answer. Just flashed back to it. It's actully the default fc error message for pac rom. It's a refrence to the game pacman.

The 256th "Split-Screen" level cannot be completed due to a software bug.

Lol.
 
I'm having issues with downloaded apps gaining root access. They act as if the phone isn't rooted at all.


...hmmm I guess root access is screwed on this ROM .... can't even get it to root the same way I used to.
 
Dang I guess my post didn't go through. Sorry about that. Split screen is a reference to the game pacman and is just the wording this rom uses for a force close. As far as root all the kitkat roms need supersu to work correctly. Download and flash it from there site. I hope Phenomx4 is going to surprise us with a flood of roms soon. Good night . Oh it did go through lol

Super user is built in on all Kitkat ROMs and it works fine for me on every one except for PAC.... something about PAC is actually breaking root, as in I'm losing root all together which has nothing to do with super user.
 
I guess you don't use titanium backup then. They have a post about super user not working correctly on kitkat and not just there software. I would try it if I where you as I have had no problem with this rom and root needing apps.

Yes I've seen the titanium message about root elevation.... I don't know what's happening, not all phones (especially zte apparently) operate equally.... maybe a bad flash or download or something... I'll try again later.
 
I'm having same problem with getting root had same problem with slim kat phen had to fix somthing and got no 3g only WiFi I like the features it has really nice

I was going to wait until I fixed the camera to upload new builds but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon so I'll update all the rom tomorrow. Is anyone else who uses this rom having a problem with 3G?
