Root ROM Request: Stock AOSP

DrJonJ

Newbie
I don't like LG's UI or UX, and was wanting a simple stock lollipop ROM.

Is this possible? I'd attempt myself but my laptop is 32bit and my internet can no way handle the bandwidth of the resource downloads.

I'm fairly certain the few devs we have are all in the middle of their own projects. They have jobs, and school, and families... And do this for free.
A donation would probably be the best way to be taken seriously. I would like to request many things, but wouldn't dream of doing so.
These guys are already giving every bit of their spare time make current projects stable. They have made incredible progress; and it has been exciting to watch the leaps made with this phone, after its oh so slow start.
Manners are a cool thing to have.

Then give me a donation link. As a game developer, I can understand that.

You'll have to check with each individual dev on that. I just survived on a carton of eggs for 3 days, lmao... I don't have the means to donate, so I haven't looked into it.
I got an old dell xps 420 on eBay for $50.. If I already had the knowledge base, I would already be helping. I'm still learning though.
Maybe someone will chime in with info on donation links... Lol, I'd mail you a computer if it meant more roms :-P

Not sure exactly what your asking for here DrJonJ. The cm12 and candy Roms are both aosp based Roms and have nothing relating to lg's ui in them at all. I highly doubt were gonna get an lg lollipop update.

If you want lg lollipop, you could try to port the d415 lollipop update to the volt, that's something that could be done on a 32 bit laptop easily and requires almost no compiling, save for a boot.img.

Speaking as one of the handful of devs here, my volt is pretty much toast. It boots but the firmware is all messed up and I can't connect to the cell network with it so I'm limited on what I can do with getting data/SMS/MMS/calling etc working. Bad_mofo is working on both cm12 and candy, kwknott is our ROM chef, and I'm the KitKat guy here. I'm working on cm11 for the lg tribute now since volt is toast, and its taking up most of my time. New projects around here usually only happen if someone new undertakes them, and if you can get a build machine around to accomplish what your looking for, its a great learning experience.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that with me out and only one compiling Dev now, I wouldn't expect to get anything more than what he's already giving you unless you undertake it yourself.

I might be willing to try working on development for it. Graduated from current college back in June, and my courses at Evergreen don't start until September so I am setting my office computer up with Linux to start some dev work on it.
