Root [ROM] Stock LG 2.1 derived rom with updated kernel for v10c/v10d users only

Hiya, just thought I'd post this online in case it's useful to anyone else.

This is my custom ROM that I'd been using on my phone before I ran the update to 2.3.3. It is the stock 2.1 ROM which has been modified using dsi's android kitchen.

0) If you have not updated your system to v20a yet using the LG updater tools, this ROM should work for you. If you have updated to v20a, this rom will work, but any functions that run through the sim card (phone, texting, etc.) will not work. Things like wifi, etc. will still work.

1) The kernel has been updated from 2.6.29 to 2.3.35.7 - the kernel from the 2.3.3 LG Shine Plus stock rom.

2) The rom is rooted, and some tools (like sysro/sysrw, bash, nano) have been added using dsi's kitchen.

Anyone who has run the upgrade to v20a is stuck with 2.3.3 for now if they want to keep using their phone as a phone - this rom can downgrade you to 2.1 but you will lose phone functionality. IF you want to do this, I recommend doing a data wipe first.

Here's the file I've been flashing safely for a month or so.

Hi Jiilik (If you read this), do you still have this file? It got deleted off most of the sites off the multiupload link due to inactivity. I bought a second 2.1 phone I'm setting up for my girlfriend so I can mess around with the 2.3.3 phone.

Thanks!

***Edit***

Nevermind, found it on wupload.

You might want to reupload it to some places. My hard disk crashed, so I lost my local copy. :/

I would, but it'll end up being deleted anyhow because it idles. :| So I'll keep it handy and send it to anyone who wants it I guess... Considering the thread activity, that might be very little people. ;)

Jiilik, if you stop by I might need your help if you have a little time... I wanted to add app2sd support in 2.1, but I need to compile a 2.1 kernel with ext3/ext4 support. I have NO idea where to begin though as I've never gone the kernel coding route. You think you could help me out?

Thanks!
