Root Rom test output and suggestions.

The reason i am making this thread is so everyone can report in on their usage or the Z970 roms performance, battery life, quality and total overall usage capabilities of the roms.

I have recently tested pacrom and candy5 and have noticed some odd issues. Such as high battery drain caused by the android o.s. and the kernel.

I plan on running tests through out the day to pinpoint the excess battery usage on candy5 and reporting what was causing it and how i fixxed it.

I am using gsam btw for anyone wanting to know how i am keeping track of the battery usage. If anyone knows anything better then holler at me.

OK. I ran tests on 4 ROMs and noticed 2 specific issues that cause wakelock and excessive battery usage. No need for me to post pics for each ROM since these are easily pointed out.

On the stock ROM and all the custom ROMs I have tested, I noticed excessive battery usage and wakelocks caused by the WiFi scanning in the background. Easy fix. Turn off the background scanning in your advanced settings in your WiFi.

The second issue is an alarm based wakelock caused by touch sounds in your sound preferences menu. Just turn off touch sounds and screen lock sounds. I have noticed pacrom 4.4.4/5.1.1, candy5 and aicp all suffering from this touch sound wakelock.

After changing these 2 settings you should be able to get your device to go into deep sleep when the screen is off.
