Root [ROM] Unofficial CM9 for supersonic (5/1/12)

Just found this, and thanks goes to jmztaylor over at XDA.

OP BELOW:

Since I didn't see it anywhere I decided to build and post a port. I also have a EVO 4G on VM so I cant test things like MMS so please let me know about those.


Downloads:

Directions:

Wipe Data, Cache, and system
Make sure /system is mounted in your recovery
Flash the ROM
Flash GApps
Reboot into the system (first boot will take several minutes)

It seems to take a min to catch 3g data. But once again I am VM so I need a sprint user to test.

Is ICS ever going to come out? I don't mean for just the evo 4g but in general. I've yet to see any firmware releases that the manufactures stated they would release in April. Sorry if it sounds like a rant, I'm just annoyed how Google is already working on JB while the companies/carriers are still trying to tweak ICS.

I'm going to try this rom out thanks for posting.

nexus has ics....as far as evo 4g, its not going to officially be released..we have to rely on rom developers

My gripe that its not enough. Where is the update for the HTC phones such as the 3D which was rumored to have received it in April? Why hasn't anyone else taken out their updates? I like how the AOSP community (Which shouldn't be compared to manufacturers like HTC or Samsung because of fiscal limitations) is much more involved in bringing out something. I know ICS will come as a port for the Evo 4G because HTC announced that the Evo won't get it.

I've been using it as a temporary rom and I really like the potential that it comes with. They need to fix a couple of bugs like the obvious no camera, 4G, and add the unique ICS features of face recognition to unlock. This rom also has an issue with the power button, it takes time for the phone to recognize that I want to turn off the display or if I press it twice quickly it opens up the window to shut down the phone. Also, I've noticed some random reboots when installing apps. I don't know if it allows for apps2sd but it would be nice when a stable version has it. Overall I'm impressed with the functions and how easy it is to use.

Honestly cant answer that never used it. But it still has some bugs to it so if you really like decks build i would stay with it till CM9 is complete.
