Help "ROM Update Utility has stopped working" - just want to update!

Hi there,

Took me about an hour to root through the unorganized mess that is the HTC developers site to find the Desire update now I've got it and ready to install (no root btw) EVERY time I run it it gets as far as the InstallShield Wizard at the beginning then says:

"ROM Update Utility has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

Close the program."

I just want to update my phone to Gingerbread - can't cope with this!!

Anyone know why it's doing this?

Sounds like an issue with your computer as opposed to your phone. Any programmes running in the background which could be conflicting with it? What os are you using?
