Root [ROM's] Project Butter Rush 4.1.2

Bee using this ROM for over a month now and have had zero problems its fast responsive and isn't laggy like touch wiz after jb update thanks a lot.
Xslim version

Hi,

Since I installed this ROM, I have had no GPS connectivity whatsoever. It's on, but it never establishes connection. I went straight from the original OS (Rooted Ice Cream Sandwich) to this ROM.

I tried disabling and enabling Google Location Services and all other GPS options in Settings, I updated my Profile and PRL, and I downloaded GPS Status & Toolbox and ran the A-GPS Reset and Download. GPS Status is reporting 0/16 satellites, and sometimes 0/0.

Do I need to install a different modem in ODIN, or some other fix to get GPS working again?

Thanks -- everything else seems to be functioning perfectly.

Hmm... I checked my Baseband version, and it's at MB3. Is there an easy way that I can get this to MD5?

U shouldn't have flashed this without already being on jellybean, as these are not full stock Roms to update to, from the ICS os.
You should try flashing the stock deodexed ROM, and then the kernel right after, before you boot to system. that should have your phone working properly.

I think now, navigation does not work properly if maps, and Google+ are not installed and updated to the latest version

I can second this. I was holding off updating maps because I liked the quick access to the navigation (the nav icon), but it would say it had lost GPS lock even though the the notification said that it still had a lock. I update to the newest version and it works correctly again

I believe since right before Google had the update I bet they was updating the maps or something it happens I assumed but this update is really good.

Hi K Rize,

It took awhile to get the courage to try again, but I did. (It's not my phone. :-)

So I first flashed the Jellybean Deodexed ROM as you suggested, then flashed Project Butter Rush, and I still have the baseband reporting MB3 (and no GPS). Are you sure that the other ROM should have the baseband files included for MD5?

Thanks! -Chris

OK, after trying all roms, and after trying all avenues of reverting to the original STOCK rom to update OTA, I decided to learn about basebands and roms a bit. I ended up just taking the MB3 to MD5 OTA updater ZIP file, editing the updater_script file to skip verification and anything labeled "recovery", rezipped, and then ran that, then the Stock Deodexed ROM JB, then the Kernel. Now I have the MD5 baseband, and my GPS works wonderfully!

If anybody else has the same issue, let me know and I can post the hacked ZIP I used to get from MB3 to MD5 baseband. Maybe one day I can isolate the correct files to shrink it down to something under 300mb. :-)
