room recognition with NFC

Newbie
i would like to have Tasker recognize what room i am in throughout my house, and then be able to act upon it in a specific way (in my bedroom then send a auto-remote command to my computer running event-ghost/in my living room then turn my computer monitor on and turn the volume down).

obviously doing this through WiFi isn't possible because its range is too long and my phone will pick it up in all rooms however NFC would be too short as i don't really want to get my phone out and put it down on a sticker every time i walk into a new room

is there a technology that can work as i "force-field" that i could put across a door/around the door which would be able to trigger this? i have considered Bluetooth however this would mean having my phone permanently connected to a Bluetooth enabled device as well as all of the other settings.

any suggestions?
many thanks

Nfc tags would do the trick for you. You program them and place to in the rooms where you want certain things.

Bluetooth would be the most hands free way, but you will need a bluetooth device for every room and it will be inaccurate.
I personally use NFC tags, and just put them where the phone usually ends up. There's one on my nightstand, on the corner of my desk near the computer, down behind the shifter in my car. The range isn't terrible either. I actually have the one on my desk underneath, so the phone scans through the wooden top which is about 3/4".
