Root [ROOT][CWM][R910/R915][GPL] Indulge All in One Root and ClockworkMod for Win/Intel Mac/Linux

Nothimg seems to be working. I have the SCH-R910 and I am running windows xp. Can I just add the files in the R910 folder to one of the root folders in my device? Or is there any other way to root this device? I have searched, but you seem to be the only one who has accomplished rooting this phone. I'm new to android, and I would really like to unlock all of it's potential.

Please disregard my last two posts. For some reason it started working after I put the folder on my desktop.

I know this is an old thread for an old galaxy indulge R915 running OS 2.3.6 on it. I have been trying every thing I have found on the internet to try and root this phone again and NOTHING!!! is working. All its done was Pss me off to the point i'm about to take a hammer to the phone and beat the piece of sht to pieces. I have a Sprint Galaxy S2 Epic 4g Touch that I have tried to flash to the cricket account i'm on and had no luck with that as of yet either. I unfotunitely can't afford a new phone so i'm stuck with what I have till I either take a hammer to the lot of them or figure this out before it comes to that.
IS THERE ANYONE WHO KNOWS WHAT I NEED AND HOW I HAVE TO DO IT THAT MIGHT BE ABLE TO WALK ME THROUGH EITHER ROOTING THE INDULGE OR FLASHING GALAXY S2 TO CRICKET???
My Email is tlc08071@gmail.com any help will be most appreciated.
I'm trying to do this on a Windows 7 64bit PC and yes I shut both anti-virus and firewall off. Im running McAfee security center. incase you need to know.
Thank you TC

I have been searching for the past two days how to fix a soft brick sch-r915 cricket
Thanks for the response I had got it

I have been searching for the past two days how to fix a soft brick sch-r915 cricket

Its been a long time since I bricked my indulge but the only way I was able to fix it was using odin and had to find the stock rom to flash it back to stock. Like I said it was a long time ago so I'm not sure if you can even find a stock rom or even if you can flash it to a custom rom to fix the issue. There is a way though just keep searching or someone on the forum should be able to help. If I still had the copies of the things you would need I would upload them to drop box for you to download, unfortunitely I lost everything I had for flashing my indulge on my old hard drive which took a crap on me. I wish I could help alittle better then I am able to now but its all I can think of to help get the phone back up and running again.

Where do i find the sticky? I'm not to forum swavy.
You HAVE to know what a sticky is before you post in a thread like this. Basically, anything that you can find by yourself, please try to do so before you ask a question. You could simply have googled "what is a sticky in a forum". I personally do not care as much, but you might never get your question answered because you didn't try to find the answer before asking. A sticky is a forum thread that is thought to be the most relavent and sought after. So, usually forum threads on how to root, how to load roms, etc will be "stickied" so that it appears at the top of the forum and is easy to find. Google "Samsung Indulge all things root"..that will bring you to the forum and the sticky threads are at the top labled sticky.

Hello there,
Clockworkmode is a sort of recovery made through codes. Losses of files could take place from any of the storage devices. There are numbers of ways which can cause data loss but recovery also can be made so easly. Suppose you have lost your photos from Jet Flash then don't worry as recover deleted photos from jet flash on Mac is an easy task to accomplish. You can download the software which can do recovery for you.

I can't download the .aio in the OP for some reason. I download, it says it's there, but then it doesn't. And my PC also tries to think it's 'unsafe to download', in 2 different browsers - IE & Chrome. HELP!!!

I went to that link but it does not have the files to root. If I am overlooking it I apologize. If I am not then does anybody have a mirror or somewhere it can be downloaded?

Nevermind, I figured out how to get it off github.

I know this thread is older then dirt but I'm stuck using my old ancient galaxy indulge R915 stinking phone and the lousy phone won't go in to any programming settings other then ##8778#, and no matter what I do (follow these lousy ancient instructions to a T) or not I can't get the phone to connect to my pc, I can't get the stinking phone to root (which to do so I have to connect it to the pc) and its starting to psss me off to no end that I'm stuck with this piece of crap phone till I can either find a way to get my galaxy s2 epic 4g touch flashed back on cricket service or smash the dam phone and do without till I can afford to get a new one. The best part is, this crap is so old I can't even find help with either stinking phone to get any of it done! :-(
I do have all drivers correctly installed on my pc which is a windows 7 x64 pc (which could be my problem), I also have adb as well as cdma workshop 2.7 and qpst installed on my pc. Command promp is being run in as admin. What really burns me the most is I can't use the programming codes in the phone using the dialer on the phone to get into the advanced hidden programming menus on the phone. NONE of them work except the one I mentioned above ##8778# and as everyone knows that just opens the pda/modem settings for phone and usb connections. Oh, I also DO have debugging enabled on the stinking phone. the android os is GB 2.3.6 Kernel 2.6.35.7 and build number sch-r915.el06. Hardware Version R915.0.2 and Baseband version s:r915.0.2k.el06.
Any help would be great with this or to get my galaxy s2 epic touch working on cricket. either or for now would be great even though I know this is an old thread and closed. So you know, I spent 5 days so far searching, reading, downloading, installing, flashing just about everything I can find for either phone and still have no luck. I did have the S2 phone on cricket network and sending/receiving calls/txt till I had my old number from straight talk ported to my cricket service and after reprogramming my S2 with the new phone number it now for some reason ended up back on sprint network and I haven't been able to get it back to crickets.
Thank you anyone at all who might be able to help.

So you are trying to PST the device?

I would try Windows XP, due to the fact that it is the least problematic for flashing phones and doing stuff like this. Do you have an old laptop? An old PC?

Follow this root guide and uninstall your drivers and use the ones in that post. The AIO file is mirrored on the main page of this forum right now.

Once you are rooted, I highly recommend the Electric Sheep Kernel

Have you looked at this thread for dialer codes?

I just flashed to Page Plus the other night with this device, actually the R910 which is a little different because of the UICC. Okay, here is what I had to do, let's see if this works for you.

To get DIAG mode to work correctly, you will need to do the following

Works on R910 not sure about R915 (please confirm for other users)

  1. Dial **87284
    * Set UART and USB to Modemd
  2. Go back to the dialer and dial **33284
    * Go to Port Map
    * Set to HFK/DIAG
If you don't do step 2 you will see the device in your Device Manager COM ports, however QPST/CDMA Workshop/DFS will not recognize the device.

Let me know how it goes for you! I like helping people. Sometimes I forget things.:p

Please use sentences, your post is VERY hard to follow!

For some reason neither of the dial codes are working on my phone. Only code I was able to get working for modem/pda modes is ##8778# to change modem/pda settings. I tried every code I could find for this phone (R915 Cricket Indulge) and nothing will work except the mentioned code. Thank you for your reply, as old as this phone and this post is I didn't think I would get 1. Now my only problem is just about every link I click on to root/cwm this phone is dead. I did find 1 link that still has some root files and such on another web site for both the R910 Phone that says will work for the R915 phone as well but haven't tried any of those yet cause I couldn't get the pc to connect to the phone. I don't have windows xp any longer however, as soon as I am able to get a new hard drive I will install xp to it just for this reason and see if I till work. I may try setting everything in windows xp mode on windows 7 to see if that will work or not.
Again, thank you or your reply.

Revised:
I just figured out that once dialing ##8778# and setting both settings there to modem then dialing ##33284 it finally let me into the advanced settings. Now I have to figure out the default SPC code to unlock the settings.

Do you have the newer paid CDMA Workshop, that MAY be able to read the SPC? Possibly DFS also? I am sure there are some other methods to obtaining the SPC.

I know there is an app you can get after rooting to obtain the SPC, however I know you are not rooted yet.

About compatibility mode, maybe. Maybe try VirtualBox if your PC is good enough to handle it. You will need to install the extension pack for Vbox for USB support to work correctly. VirtualBox may prove to be a hassle, trying to get everything to work correctly.

This phone is very finicky I noticed, I myself have spend countless hours with this trying to flash, because of the same issue you are having where it wouldn't detect.

Is my Step 2 even needed? You can see a COM port correct? Does QPST recognize it as a phone?
