Root/Flash GT90H

Hi i have bought a cheap tablet the gt90h but it appears it is a chinese built tablet.

i keep on getting pop ups on the net and randomchinese apps trying to install themselves on it.

i would like a firmware that is 100% emglish or if i root it what do/can i delete to get rid and stop apps trying to install?

i am new to this world of rooting but have jailbroke ios devices and flashed drives in the pc and w#years ago used to flash the old sony ericsson phones so have a reasonably good understanding of what to do and the risks.

any help would be really appreciated.

Just a update I have rooted the device deleted the stock Internet browser (thinking it might have being this) and installed chrome but still getting the pop ups.

They are not installed app related pop ups. It's like if I scroll the app pages a random pop up will open up to install clash of clans. Or if I am playing a game/using a app, any game or app I sometimes get a random box appear promoting something.

Also if I go to settings in the tablet I get a activate device administrator box come up with

Com.android.google.receiver.MyAdmin followed with Chinese writing come up. And the bullet point is Lock the screen. I can either cancel or activate this but keep on cancelling.

I have used nobloat but not 100% sure what is safe to delete and what is not

I think the problem is that no one knows your tablet mate.
All I can do is tag @miketd who is our resident expert in all things Chinese and hope he can help you with the spam. Sorry

You probably have the trojan cloud server installed which serves up ads and displays demo in red if if its removed. There is a tool at the Techknow forums to remove it.

I kept getting lots of ads on my tablet. The trojan allows eken to remotely download more adware and apps without your permission. A lot of Chinese ROMs are infected by the manufacturers. Removal requires the tool as system files are altered to stop uninstallation. Nasty bit of adware. Hides with differing misleading process names. My gt90h tablet showed it as Com.googlecalenderplugin. There was also another process com.android.popup showing pop ups. The stock browser gets locked to a spam homepage. More apps and ads are remotely loaded. Ads appear over other apps and in notifications. The adware even counts the number of boots before launching its ads so as to make you think its not the firmware causing it. Systemui is altered to check for cloud server. If you root and remove it you get DEMO in big red letters over the screen. The manufacturer Eken owns the domain cloud server connects to.
