Root for 2.1

Was looking into rooting my Droid, but i dont wanna go through the entire downgrade process (im running 2.1) and put my phone at risk. Anyone hear or know anything about a root for the 2.1 software?
 
Nope. As of now, none of the developers are bothering with finding an exploit to root 2.1
There's really no need for them as root has already been established.
But there's always a chance (probably slim to none) that some rogue hacker out there will do it just for fun.
Haven't heard anyone else trying it yet either...so....
Sorry bud. Looks like you'll have to go the rsdlite (or whatever its called) flashing method for now.
