I cannot tell you how happy I am to have AdAway back. Now only thing left is restoring my TiBu backups.

No TWRP install yet, as TWRP isn't working yet. Instructions are at the link but I'll recap here. And feel free to ask any questions.
- Download & install magisk manager apk from the link above.
- place a copy of the stock boot.img on your internal storage. You can pull it from the factory image for your build HERE, or if you are on build number OPD1.170816.010, you can save a little time and bandwidth by downloading just the boot.img from me HERE.
- in magisk manager hit install>install>patch boot image. Browse to the location you saved the stock boot img and select it.
- after it does it's thing and saves a copy of "patched_boot.img", copy that to your PC and flash the patched boot.img via fastboot.
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
- Restart the device and enjoy root.
