Help Root help. Need help downgrading

So first off let me say im new to the android world. I have had my prevail for some time now and have been trying to use the one click method of rooting my phone. Until now, i realized that my phone is currently using the 2.3.6 version. Can anyone post a link as to how i can downgrade back to 2.3.5 so the one click root works? Or tell me abt a different method of rooting this thing? I cant find a link for a flash or anything. Or maybe im just blind 0_o
IDK you all seem very helpful, so someone please point me in the right direction.

You do not need to downgrade.
You can just use Odin to flash a pre-rooted image. You can find Odin in the root section of this forum

Yep LordVincent is right all you need is to odin with a rooted image to downgrade.
