Root Root phone with a broken screen

I've searched a lot and found the opposite of my problem.

What I'm looking to do is ROOT my phone, without the use of the screen.

My reason for this is to use "Android Screencast" so I can look through my phone settings to determine what screen I have.

Could anyone point me in direction of a solution?

I don't have the box

You dont need root. Just use myphone explorer
