Root Root Problems

Hey guys im having some issues with my rooted prevail. my apps are very very laggy and slow and often freeze making me force close them. i use the phone for 5-10 minutes and it gets really hot, i can feel it through the case. my whole phone will freeze up for 5-10 minutes at a time causing me to miss calls and i end up having to take my battery out to shut it off. it runs really good for about 5 minutes after boot then just goes crazy like this.
im running CTMod with Kouma Kernel and i usually have 110-150MBs free on the RAM so i dont really understand whats causing this. thanks for any help

Hi

I'm assuming you followed the root for dummies guide?

If so that would mean you're running data mode, correct?

What class is your sdcard? Slower cards don't do very well with data mode.

ya i have a partitioned card running on data mode. i believe its a class 4 or class 5 card. it was doing this before i rooted my phone but wasn't as bad. is it the ROM im using?

yes. doesn't seem to help at all. just ends up lagging more

Do you use many social media apps? Facebook, Facebook games, twitter or several apps that run in the background? This phone just doesn't have a whole lot of RAM..

i have Facebook, MeetMe, and Kik on my phone but i rarely every use facebook. i always stop all there services in running apps and clear data and cache of them so im not logged in or nothing on them

no its been doing this since i got it really. it just hasn't been as bad. like a fullly charged battery will drain in an hour or two when ive only had to screen on for maybe 30 mins (not 30 mins constant either)

No matter how many times you stop Facebook it still runs in the background. Try freezing these apps with something like titanium backup when not using them and see if it helps your situation
