Is it zipped? If so, extract all, then take that folder and move it to c:\

It doesn't really need to be at c:\, but if there, it cuts down on the amount of typing you need to do. Also, you can extract it directly to c:\ if you want. There's an option for that under extract all.

Just be sure that it's not inside a folder that's inside a folder on c:\. If this happens, you have to type out both folders, thus eliminating any convenience you gain by moving it to c:\.

So let's say during the extract all, you tell it to extract to c:\sdk-tools

It will end up creating a folder called c:\sdk-tools, then it will extract everything into that folder. The only problem will be that all the files you need will be in another folder called sdk-tools which is inside c:\sdk-tools. the full path would be c:\sdk-tool\sdk-tools.

During the extraction, tell it to extract to c:\, and it should take it from there.

what operating system? Easiest is to create a folder in c:, for example: C:/androidunlock, and then go to download folder and copy adb and fastboot to the folder you created. If you can't find them, just search for them.

when i did mine, I just looked where there folder was where adb and fastboot were located, and navigated there within the cmd (command prompt)

If you haven't yet, I believe the sdk download is a zip file and you you have to extract it, when you extract it, you can choose where to extract the files

on edit, looks like Palmetto Fellow gave you a great answer!

Ya I unzipped it,I just extracted all and it made a folder..I should just try it again and extract it all to the c:\ ? Right

Once extracted, take that folder, and copy/paste it to c:\

EDIT:

Take your time and read EVERYTHING before you make any moves in the rooting guide. The nature of your question implies to me that you don't work with filenames and directories often. This is an awesome community full of helpful people. If there is any step that you don't understand, it's best to ask questions BEFORE you do anything, rather than asking how to fix it afterwards.

We're here to help...but sometimes, it can take an hour to get an answer depending on what's going on in our personal lives :P
