Root root/rom noob - CM7.1

Hey All,

Current phone is TBolt; but i have a Fascinate lying here and want to root/ROM it with the recently released CM 7.1. Any tips or links methods please point them out.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. - I have access to Win7x64 or MAC OSX if either is easier to use for drivers, etc that I might need.

Download CM7 and Gapps and put them on your sdcard where you can find them easily.

Use Superoneclick to root. Just make sure you have the Samsung drivers installed and have USB debugging enabled on your phone.

Once you're rooted you'll want to power down the phone and remove the battery and flash recovery using odin and this link.

Once that passes. You'll want to insert the battery and hold down both volume buttons while powering on the phone to get into recovery. From recovery you should make a backup first and then you can flash CM7 and Gapps. You'll probably auto boot once you've installed CM7 and have to reboot back into recovery for Gapps.
