i try to connect it to inpactor and it cannot find it what so ever is there a apk or any other way to root my phone? it connects to my computer under developer mode but yet refuses to connect to any software thats recommended to root it. it is a metro PCS SGH-T599N

Do you have the drivers for your phone installed? That's the only thing that could be the problem. You could also try a different usb cable but if you're computer is detecting it than that shouldn't be the problem. I think you can use an app called master root but I have no experience with it. Just search google for sgh-t599n root method and you should find something.
