Root Root without Android SDK?

Can this phone be rooted without the Android SDK installed? The only computer I have access to right now I am only on a "Guest" account so I can't install the Java JRE in order to install the SDK, or the drivers for the phone. What can be done?

i don't believe there is a way to do so without a computer, i havn't seen any appts like Z4Root that could work.

The only reason you need the SDK is to reboot the phone into recovery mode, right? There is no shortcut like a pressing of a combination of keys to bring the phone to the recovery mode? No app for that?

no SDK i believe can be used for multiple things
most phones have a DL/Recovery Mode with a few button combos

Yeah basically it's just to boot into recovery because I don't know if there is a hard keys shortcut to boot into recovery. If you do know it feel fee to post it in the root thread. :D

I don't have the recovery boot short cut for this phone, that's the issue. :) I wish I had it. Any apps can do this without root?

Yeah don't think so, most apps use ADB as the way to to boot into it. It's just more user friendly. But the sdk is really useful considering it'll be how we flash ClockworkMod assuming I or someone else can get it to work.

Erm.... I think you can download a standalone adb.exe and use that without having to install the entire sdk. Just google it and I'm sure there is something for you.
