Root Root without pc successful!

Tokenpoke

Android Expert
So, I got desperate and decided to try some rooting apps.
I got success on my first try!!!! Root!!!

I used the latest framaroot on xda forums in gandalf mode.
Don't forget to allow unknown sources and USB debugging. I also allowed mock locations.

Sweetness.

I expected it to be too good to be true after reading how convoluted soms of the original root exploits were, but worked like a charm, and no issues!

Adb over one clicks always. That said.....without a pc....that makes it worth a shot. Glad you got root, and not a brick.

I tried the Framaroot process last night, Success :)

Thanks to Tokenpoke
and thanks to alephzain, and anyone who helped with Framaroot.

(this is only what I did... I am not responsible if your phone breaks or stops working (or becomes bricked))

1) I backed up everything, (I used the Huawei built-in back up)
Made sure the phone had more than 50 percent battery.

2) Went to dev options in settings, usb debuging allow, mock locations allow.
Went to security in settings (device administration) and unknown sources allow.

3) downloaded the latest Framaroot (I used 1.6.0. from the xda site)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276

4) opened Framaroot, selected Gandalf mode.
5) followed the prompts that would restart phone
6) waited 5-10min for phone to restart
7) I verified superuser
8) Success, I am now ROOTED :)

9) I turned off unknown sources, off mock locations, off debugging

10) (I downloaded and used "Root explorer" at my own risk)

11) I deleted some bloatware in (( / cust / metropcs / us / app )) and (( / cust / metropcs / us / delapp )) (e.g. metro easywifi, facebook, twitter, etc..)
And somewhere I deleted that way too bright metro logo that appears at startup, I forget which file it was in... oh well...

12) Have a nice day.

Thanks again to Tokenpoke for finding this method.

peace, yo from JJdaCool

Actually cust/metro/us/media... But where... If we still have it... Is the boot sound? It amazes me that more people haven't taken notice of this device... Extremely fluid, fast, & customizable. Nice stats on gsm arena too.. They even had it rival the s4
