Help Root won't uninstall

My phone was rooted quite a bit ago. One day, my root stopped working and none of my root apps would function. I decided to try and uninstall it using the full unroot. The app closed(It said that it was supposed to) and I rebooted, but the app was still there. Can someone help me? I want to update my system but my device has been modified. I am using SuperSU. Android version 4.3.
 
I just had a similar issue. My (rooted) phone was in a bootloop and I went to recovery to try and fix it but the recovery bootlooped as well. I had to unroot and go back to a stock 4.3 ROM.
