As I am a guy with low to mid level android knowledge, I don't know much if any about rooting

I see that the mytouch 4g has root now

what does this do exactly

basically make more like google had intended the google OS to be, i.e. like the Nexus?? i.e. vanilla out the MyTouch/HTC skin?

"SOME" instructions, but I don't know if they are all there, and they are certainly on a level that I don't understand to be honest..

Would anyone be able or willing to help or provide a link to an easier way to do it?

I had heard this will ruin the warranty. Then I had heard that if you do it, you can take back to factory settings and they won't know.

Can you expand on this.. thanks so much

If i were you i would not do a perma root till things get easier. Try the method i posed in my signature.

Dont want to screw up a brand new phone.

yeah give it a few weeks and im sure there will be a app in the market that will allow permanent root fairly easy..temp root through visionary works just as good and easy to do.
