Root Root

I know what root is - my phone is rooted. I rooted the phone to get rid of bloatware.

It looks like rooting tablet will get rid of bloat, but I would like to know if root will also let you use the sd card in a normal fashion. I've always had a thing for storing info or whatever elsewhere and have done so since I first got a computer. This business of not using the card as regular storage that you can write and access is annoying me. Even the Coby would use the card normally.

Will rooting allow read/write to the sd card?

I meant moving apps etc, to the External SD card. I can access the card, but the apps that are on the ext. card on the phone will not go to the external card on the tablet.
I don't need 2 databases of books - one on the external and one imported to the internal SD card.

I have downloaded books that I want on the external SD. I have no option to save it there.
I switch the card between the Coby and the Acer.
