Root Rooted 2.1 -> 2.2

I was hoping that someone could give me the highlights of making the jump from a rooted 2.1 ROM to 2.2.

I was meaning to try this out months ago but just got busy and now I can't find any recent threads about how to do this.

Since I am running A2SD, I believe I need to remove the SD partition but other than this is it just the usual wipe, flash procedure?

Yeah, just reformat your card to a single fat 32 partition, and do the usual data / davlik cache wipes.

When you removed the Ext partition from your SD card all data on the card WILL be deleted. So make sure you have a good backup of the SD card first.
Also, make a nand backup if you think you may want to go back to your current setting.
If you're going to do all of these steps there's a 'proper' order
1) make the nand
2) backup the SD card (which backs up your nand)
3) remove the ext partition.

If you do (3) before (2) your nand will be deleted.

I found when going from the stock 2.1 ROM to a 2.2 ROM sms messages imported from Titianium screwed up my messaging. So you may want to try another separate backup app just in case.
