Root Rooted 2.2 battery suck and bloat removal

RTDub

Newbie
There is the placebo effect and then there is reality. Recently rooted 2.2 and went in to remove bloat - a lot of it. The difference is remarkable, but not in a good way. My previous Incredible was rooted and had a similar issue with sudden battery drain, but this is ridiculous.

An example (prior to Operation Bloat):

Last night I went to sleep on a 100% charge, streaming music through Google Music app all night long. No other apps running (well, fresh off a reboot). This morning (9 hours later) I was at 82% - not bad at all.

In adb I removed a ton of bloat (kept a list), but it was nothing I thought was serious. Stuff like Teeter, Peep, Navigator, Facebook, Backup Assistant, stuff I never use. I unplugged the phone and rebooted from Recovery and within 8 minutes was at 92%.

I was better off with all the bloat. Are there any bloat/apps that, when removed, can cause this? Attaching my list.

This phone has a known issue with sudden battery drain after unplugging (with or without bloat).

Basically, the moment that the phone is fully charged, it will stop charging and start discharging (while still plugged in). So even when you unplug the phone right off the charger and it says it's fully charged, it may not actually be fully charged depending on how long it was sitting on the charger for.

I'll see if i can find the thread on it.

Thanks, but I do bump charge quite often. This is different. I was shocked after receiving the new handset and making it identical to my first one how long the battery took to drain. I work in a data center where there is zero reception and yesterday the battery was also working like a champ. Maybe it was a one-off thing after removing bloat, I'll have to keep an eye on it. Worst case, I restore the apps to their rightful place and just live with it.

EDIT: A stream overnight like last night's little experiment used to take me down to 50%. Same battery, kernel, radio, everything.

From an intuitive point of view it doesn't make an sense that removing an app would cause battery drain. I can think of only two scenarios where this could happen but I don't think either is the case here. One would be removing a system app that the OS wants to keep running. Maybe in that scenario it would keep looking for it and trying to start it leading to battery drain but then again more than likely it would crash instead because this would seem to be something important.
Second scenario would be removing some app that was designed to save battery life but that isn't the case here.

I am optomistic that this was in fact a one-off but report back if you find out otherwise.
