Rooted Applications Advice?

I am a newbie. :) I rooted my phone last night thanks to a great thread I found on here. I've been reading up on rooted applications that are a must have but haven't found anything recent for the year 2011 so I know some things might have changed. I have a few I wanted to know if they're worth my wild..

Autokiller
Autostarts
Root Explorer
Root Tools-can't find that in the market though..
Drop Box
Wireless Tether
Juice Defender
ROM Manager- i didn't install a ROM when I rooted my phone so I didn't know if I needed this
Xscope
Chachemate
Titanium Backup
Launcher Pro
Battery Left
Busy Box

*Note: some of these might not need to have root access, they were just ones that have been mentioned the most.

If there are others that you would recommend I would greatly appreciate it. Just trying to get the most out of my rooted droid x! :)

I also rooted this weekend. I added my preferences below (not that they are any better).

Drop Box
Wireless Tether (I have an O-V, has tether)
Juice Defender (I use Power Schedule)
ROM Manager- i didn't install a ROM when I rooted my phone so I didn't know if I needed this
Xscope (I use Boat Browser)
Cachemate (I use App Cache Cleaner, but I'll try this for root)
Titanium Backup
Launcher Pro (I use GO Launcher)
Battery Left (I use Minimalist Text Batt info)
Busy Box
link2SD
APP Quarantine
Bookmark Tree (nice UI for bookmarks)

Thinking about a ROM for next weekend! (Harmonia)

The only root apps I really use are root explorer, terminal emulator, titanium backup and cache cleaner legacy. Roms usually have things like busybox built in.

I can't recommend ROM manager (in fact I would advise against it) as it has caused too many problems in the past for me, I would suggest if you want to get into the rom world to learn your recovery and how to use it and do it all manually. If you get a botched download via rom manager and try to flash it but don't know how to use recovery well you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

I also suggest checking out the "All things root" subforum of you phone's forum here on AF, users there will be able to suggest roms, kernels, basebands/radios (if available) as well as provide other tips you may not know otherwise;)
