Root Rooted, but setcpu wont let me overclock

as the title suggests, i just rooted my wildfire and was well excited to make it perform a little better by overclocking it.

ive got my hands on set cpu and come to try and boost the stats a bit but the maximum i can set it is 528 mhz. i could be wrong but isn't this the stock speed anyway?

either way it wont let me get speeds up to 600/700 like ive seen others have theirs, any suggestions?

Yo dude
Firstly have you installed a kernel that allows overclocking?
(If you have) Then maybe your ROM does not support overclocking
(If it does) Then you may need to disable perflock using SetCPU (stock HTC ROM have perflock enabled to prevent overclocking)
