rooted g1 low on internal storage?!

shshchch

Lurker
I've had my phone rooted for a while with cyanogen, with my 8gb sdcard partitioned and so of course apps2sd running. Last time checking my internal storage I though it was at least 67mb, with tons of apps installed. I'm on cyanogen 4.2.3.1 now and my phone storage is showing as around 45mb, so I did a factory reset, my phone and apps all stayed the same texts were gone of course, only gave me like 2mb extra. Does this have something to do with the most recent rom? I haven't checked phone storage in a while so not sure if it changed drastically after an upgrade. Shouldn't it be a lot higher?

Thank you! I did what you said and went through checked almost all the apps, cleared cache from a lot of them, and that gave me about 10mb bringing me up to 58, but shouldn't that have been cleared when I factory reset? I still don't have as much memory as I used to, not to sound greedy haha, but it just doesn't make sense to me, is there a way to see what is on the phones memory? Anybody know of any other things that might be causing it? Alsofor other rooted,apps2sd users, how much internal mem do you have?

If you went from a 1.5 ROM to 1.6 ROM, I think you're lose some space naturally, since 1.6 is bigger in size.

be careful about what cache you delete, some apps store settings in the "cache"...i lost my yahoo messenger and email settings a while back and a shit ton of high scores while trying to free up memory without deleting apps before i rooted. if you wanna free up some space...delete the stock ringtones that came with the phone and replace them with the ones you use...
