Root rooted galaxy s2 skyrocket tries to update, after reboot, nothing

I am rooted. Every several days I get a text telly me on an at and t android software update. It downloads, when I try and apply the update, my phone reboots (into clockwork mod) and when I select boot from CWM, I am told that update has been interrupted. What to do? unroot, apply update, re root?, is there an easier way? I am assuming that this is the ICS update, but who knows.
I have android version 2.3.5 currently. Is it even worth caring about?
