Root rooted gingerbread issues

So today I tried dloading and installing CyanogenMod7, and I backed up everything before installing it. When I started up CM7, it wouldn't load my SIM contacts or my apps. What can I do to get those so I can upgrade to CM7?

Cyanogen doesn't include the Google apps (which is where your contacts are stored) on their roms. You need to download those separately.

Go here http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip that's where you'll find the google apps. They install through CWM Recovery by flashing, just like a rom.
