Root Rooted HTC DHD, don't know how to upgrade

Hey guys, very new here. So I decided to root my phone, to unlock the simlock. (successfully, don't ask how). So my question is... How do I upgrade the firmware. I did the whole about phone>upgrade software and it just said "no update available".

Some details that may be important:
I moved from UK to Guatemala
So I wanted to use the phone here

Can I do it manually, and if so how?

If you are rooted, you should not take an OTA update. You would need to restore your phone to stock, using an RUU (Rom Update Utility).

Have you thought about trying custom ROM's instead of just putting the stock HTC stuff back on your phone?
