Root Rooted: Lost access to Ringtones/Notifications

Hi

I have been trying to access ringtones, alarms, and notifications the last couple days but keep getting an error message and a "Force close" message. I had them at one point after I rooted the phone.

I rooted WFS about one year ago and moved files using Root Explorer to SDCard... I must have moved either ringtones/notifications/alarms, or the file that accesses them OR an update screwed something up

I see the Media folder with all ringtones and notifications in Root Explorer under system/media/audio/alarms... /notifications... /ringtones...

How do I get them back and working?

R

I think the only way is to reflash your rom. Did you make a nandroid backup before you moved the files? If yes jus restore that backup and you should be fine.

Thanks for reply.

Didn't save a backup... But i am able to load downloaded music as an alarm, notification, or ringtone.

I think if I copy all WFS sounds into Music folder with Root Explorer it should work, but I can't find the Music folder using RE.

Any ideas how to find it?

Nevermind. Solved it!

When i first rooted, I saved all apps in 'deleted' folder on sdcard. Saw two apps (htcsoundsetdownloadmanager.apk & FilePicker.apk) and restored them (copied and moved them back) to system/apps.

Problem Solved!

I am going to move this thread to the all things root guide since it relates to root. Hopefully by doing so, people who go looking for this issue will be better able to see and locate it in that forum. :)
