Just thought if let you know....even if you don't care :-P

But no one on my Facebook really knows what it is etc so I just wanted to tell someone who actually knows what I'm talking about! ;-)
 
I'd strongly recommend finding the "All Things Root" for your device to find people who can give you more advice and info. :)
 
:rofl: I had the same experience when I rooted my phone. No one on facespace likes phones that much, especially enough to load custom roms and all that rooting can offer.

I am just going to take my time with it and just learn to do different things over the coming year, it has after all taken me 5 months to pluck too the courage to root and I've owned the phone nearly a year now :-P

I've actually been on the s2 form and the galaxy w forms for a while,I never realised there were any lounge let alone 2 lounge forums on here.lol....I only realised at the weekend , now my fianc
 
Gratz to you...the first time you root it is scary with not knowing what to expect...glad to hear you joined the dark side ;)

A word of advise on roms, try each one for at least a few days before moving on that way you will be able to judge each in actual use not just a few hours then flashing another...oh and have fun :):D
 
Lol, yep she thinks all I do is play on my phone.lol

And as for her phone, she won't even play with a different launcher just cos its different to what she knows, even though I've set up go launcher to mimic her stock launcher completely! Lol

However, I'm just focusing on making sure I know what I'm doing before playing about with new roms and or kernels :-$ I've got titanium backup and have backed up my apps, also backed up efs so I think I'm poetry much good to go :-)
 
Trust me, my wife would nearly hide her Droid from me (we got them both at launch). She put on some stupid Eiffel Tower wallpaper when she got it and kept in on there for two years!!! Downloaded no more than 5-6 apps, ugh. Then she got my hand me down Bionic and lo and behold, BOUGHT Beautiful Widgets.
Sometimes you just have to let them get comfortable in their own way! ;)
 
I use my own photography, and don't like widgets. I used a Sony UX-50 before and liked the organization. So I'm keeping in. The Nokia 6085 has some animated wallpapers - the Vulcan has a drifting hot air balloon, and that's all he wants.
 
Yeah. my wife doesn't want me to root her phone. I convinced her on the last one, but that was because it had almost no internal memory, lol. The newer one has plenty so she said "hands off".

She is letting me have her try out a few different keyboards though, lol. ;)

When her device gets the official ICS update, I will make sure she does that at least. :)
 
Finally got my LG Marquee rooted this morning, had to downgrade firmware to do it. Flashed CTMod 3.6.5 onto it with a Unleashed 3D kernel and it's so much smoother, faster, and more aesthetically pleasing.

My Photon has been rooted but haven't flashed a new Rom yet. Wife's MoPho isn't rooted, I think my old Optimus S is but can't remember.

Oh yeah, that was the one thing she "let" me do with her Droid (by that, I mean I did it in the morning while she was sleeping). When the unofficial Froyo update was leaked, I made sure to get it on her phone quick. It was no biggie since it didn't wipe anything. I was a bit nervous though since she had no backup and the update.zip was only out for a few hours.
 
Lol,I managed to give hers a small official update, but even them she didn't want me too!

However back to original topic, I finally flashed my first custom ROM, realised a couple of things I didn't back up but other than that out went well :-)

Opted for Andy x ROM, purely cos I could find it :-P and general reviews said out wad quite good :-)
 
Is that an ICS ROM? I had to jump off the tablet hybrid ROM as it was squishing all the text. No worries, I have plenty of options.
