Root Rooted Wifi Tether Apps Not Working

I recently rooted my Droid 2 running gingerbread and no matter what app i use it does not work. I was using barnacle for a while then it stopped conecting and another notification popped up in my bar. The notifications says Tethering or hotspot active touch to configure. I looks like it is a system notification and therefore trying to not allow the hotspot to work properly. I dont know if their is a way to disable this or what. Any suggestions would help

thats because they patched wireless tethering on GB. you must flash a custom rom to get those features.
