Root Rooted wireless tether turns on Verizon 3G hotspot

dnensign

Lurker
I have a Droid X that is rooted using gingerbreak I believe. When the Verizon System version 4.5.605 came out my phone updated and I re-rooted the same way I did before. (Thats what the forums said to do) Now when I try to use my wireless tether app, it turns on the actual hotspot for my phone and trys to get me to sign up for the mobile hotspot. What do I need to do to get around this?

Which tether app you using?
For mine which is experimental tether app i made sure the settings match in both hotspot and the tether app. Name of network, secured connection or not etc.

the app is just called wireless tether. it worked great before but not so much anymore.

verizon and the others patched it for GB, you shouldnt use it unless you pay for it, however there are alternative means for work arounds, i will not post the links to them, as they are links that lead to something that is a controversy on this forum, just google search wireless tether workaround for android or something of that nature

Ok I did everything y'all said and then some from other forums and nothing is working! Lol I don't want to pay for a hot spot when I have unlimited data access.

Something else I noticed, on stock rooted .605 PDA net even brings you to the VZW broadband page.. I know you can use the TBH patch, but whenever I use it, my 3G drops alot..
