Root rooting amd links 2 sd

Hi all, been bouncing around, reading and learning as much as I can to do 2 things, one is I wanna root my phone and play around with that and 2 is solve my internal memory that keeps on running out. I have 2 micro sd cards available and I am running the Z5 version and froyo 2.2.2 with hitachi screen. I got super user going and got links 2sd rolling good. I 've tried the gingerbreak and super one click root and I only get to step 3. Followed the android centrals forum. I feel like am at the finish line but I am missing something. I also noticed there is a updated guide that I will be following very closely. Just could use any help. thanks

You have superuser.... do you have root? The simplified root and recovery thread here is great. Bobzhome's cm9 has a2sd built into it.... if you have partitioned an ext directory it does everything for you. I am running 84 apps and still have 90mb of internal.
