Rooting and Unrooting

Hey everyone.

I'm running root on my Evo 4G (via unrevoked) and want to try a different ROM. I'm finding the ROM I'm running now a little slow, especially when I have installed a bunch of apps. I know this could mostly also be in part of memory and not necessarily the ROM.

A few questions:

  • How can I tell what ROM I have? I rooted using Unrevoked and I know I have ClockWorkMod, but that is not the ROM - correct?
  • Any ROM recommendations? I'd be interested in some comparison of ROMS to see the pros and cons. Love to find a good solid ROM with apps already with the ROM. Also, is there a ROM with Hulu that you don't need Hulu Plus for?
  • Where is the latest Sprint Stock ROM? Can I go back to the original stock and unroot? Is it complicated. I've seen posts here and there, but haven't uncovered a complete CURRENT guide.
  • I've noticed that when my Evo is plugged into the car jack, it stops charging (no it's not completely done charging). The only way to correct it is unplug the car charger and plug it back in. The orange light sometimes blinks when this happens. Is this due to a custom rom? I've tried a few car chargers.
Thanks in advance for the help.

If you rooted the phone and did not flash a custom ROM, you are still on the stock ROM, just rooted. Try the root subforum for your phone to find out what ROMs are available for it.
