I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket that I purchased unlocked through Amazon. I am using AT&T Straight Talk for my service. I have the calling and texting setup and working fine. I can also connect to internet as long as I'm on a Wi-Fi.
However, I cannot connect to the internet unless I'm on Wi-Fi. I have learned that I have to update my APN settings, however, my phone will not allow me to do that so I have learned now that I have to root it.
I have attempted to follow rooting instructions I've found online to root the phone using Kies, but I am having issues with getting Kies to work correctly. Is there a simple way to root an Andoid phone without using Kies?
(I'm brand new to cell phones and smart phones and learning as I go). Any help is much appreciated!
