Root Rooting Atrix 2.

^^^ This way worked great. Only problem, or, I thought was a problem, is you have to wait for the program. This wouldn't be a problem except, I thought it locked up! I unplugged the phone like an idiot. Well, I just started from square one again, and just left it plugged in until the program said your phone was rooted, then, you're ok. It was painless, even though I was paranoid about locking the phone up. Thanks, again, Skearton, for your help!

No problem. I like Android Forums. I was kind of bummed at the lack of activity here when I showed up.

Hopefully I can continue to help out, and also gain some advice when I need it.

Speaking of that... since you just rooted, are you going to install boot strap recovery?

I want to test some other roms but I keep finding mixed reviews as to whether the nandroid backups function properly.

My last phone was "unbrickable" I still havent taken the big dive into the atrix2 yet.

ALSO: Did you unlock your phone yourself? Hire a service? Or purchase it unlocked?

I bought my Atrix 2 "unlocked", not exactly sure if it was fully unlocked. Weird things were happening, like having 4G on T-Mobile, which wasn't supposed to happen, and almost always auto logging in on AT&T Wifi hot spots when put on wifi. After I moved from Walmart Family Mobile (Prepay T-Mobile) to Straight Talk (AT&T side), it worked much better.

I was a nervous wreck last night rooting the phone, and then working with that root file to fix my issues. I don't plan on doing anything else unless I REALLY need to do something.
