Hello all. I'm definitely somewhat new to the forums and just wanted to say howdy do. Long time Droid user here. Actually bought the first Droid as it came out (I got mine in December of '09 about a month after it came out if I remember right). I must say, almost 2 years using my Droid and I realize how much of a noob I am. I really love some of the apps Ive been introduced to on these forums.
I was also wondering if someone might help me with some info on rooting?
What exactly be definition is rooting? Is rooting allowed? Detectable? Does it nullify any warranties etc.?
And can anyone point me into a rooting how-to or beginner type section of the forums, threads, or other sites? I've heard many things about good ROMs and reasons to root.
I'm using a Droid 1 at the moment and getting ready for the Bionic, so I figured I should dabble now and be a pro by the time my Bionic comes out. (should it have the unlocked bootloader)
Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.
