Rooting Beginner.

Hi ,

I am planning to root my SGS2. I want to know is there really benefit of rooting? and

also want to know , whether rooted phone will only be helpful for guys who know Linux?

There are a lot of benefits to rooting your device. You can load different roms on your phone, change themes and change the kernel to help out on battery life. You honestly don't have to know any linux, sure it can help, but the devs out there have made everything really simple.

Also we have great people here at androidforums that are willing to help out.

The main benefits are being able to instal custom roms and kernels. These can improve performance and battery life. Another advantage is being able to remove or freeze bloatware that you don't use to again increase battery life. And you don't need to know anything about linux to see the advantages.
