Root Rooting Benefits? Quick answer.

Hey, fairly new to android. Have a moment. What are the benefits of rooting my moment since there are no roms out yet. with 2.0 coming soon will i be able to take advantage of that since its rooted? sorry for the novice questions thank you=)

Removing the default added apps... I have boot looped mine 3 times after rooting.. still trying to figure out what causes this boot loop but dont have time to play with my phone right now
