Rooting/Flashing Help

Hello,

I am, trying to follow a guide a fellow forum member posted for me here and need a little help :

I have created a Goldcard as per the instructions here :

And am downloading the ROM from here :

Replacing T-mobile ROM with Generic HTC ROM - xda-developers

I am not sure what to do now....I have a goldcard setup ok, but have this .exe from the above URL....I would really appreciate someone to guide me through the last steps.

Put the goldcard into the phone, boot it up, connect the phone to PC, launch exe from PC, follow instructions. Done

Thanks - It failed at first....but i didn't put the Goldcard in - doh!

It is now working great....just need to setup all my scenes etc again...but hey, i have a rooted/flashed Desire - birlliant!

I do find it a little laggy tho....hmmm - anyone else found this with a flashed version?

No need to apologise, I didn't know the difference until last week

Flashed mine to the latest Generic ROM the first day I got mine and then downloaded the OTA update as soon as I switched it on, and haven't noticed any lag at all.

But then I didn't switch it on with the stock Vodafone ROM, so have nothing to compare it to.

A rooted phone will give you access to the system folders.
