I need help to getting some more internal storage and I keep hearing about this rooting stuff. what is this rooting mean how does that help us get more storage? I also have the zte midnight phone.

You can try SRSRoot to root your phone,
SRSRoot One Click Root for Android (SuperUser)

In order to have more internal storage,You will have to have a Micro SD Card,A 32gb. is ideal.
What you have to do is install CWM after root of coarse.Then you should be able to create a 4gb. internal storage partition.

But this device has a locked bootloader,So No dice on creating a partition with a CWM.
