Help Rooting from Donut on a G1

So I'm assuming that the "One Click Root" method is not going to work in Donut. Is that correct?

If so, I'll need to downgrade to Cupcake first. Does anyone have a download link? Is there anything I need to do before applying the update.zip to downgrade?

You might let people know what phone you are working with .... ???? that might help in getting some answers or help

No the 1 click root will not work on Donut AKA 1.6, you will indeed have to downgrade to 1.5 to use it or simply do it the old fashioned way by going back to RC29
