Root Rooting Help PLEASE!

Hi everyone,
I am new here. I have a Samsung Moment that I bought used it has
Andriod version
2.2.1 DL05-Beta-6

Baseband Version
S:M900.8.OS0DJ07

KERNEL VERSION
2.6.32.9

Build Number
SDX_DL06_KERNEL

My Gps isn't working and I was told by a friend that I have the wrong rom installed. Can someone please let me know what I should have and if that will help my gps? ALso I have been having issue with the device freezing, would the wrong rom cause that as well?
If you can let me know where to get the correct software that would be great.

FYI I have tried gpsfix, gpsstatus and neither has helped my GPS issue.

That is a now-pretty-old 2.2 rom. All Moments have gps issues to some extent, but 2.2 roms tend to be worse. If you need good gps, stick with 2.1. You can go to forums.sdx-developers.com and read the Moment section for more information on this phone.

Like I say in that thread, my Wife has been using this setup for months with no problems.

I finaly ot the time to reroot the phone. Thank you very much for the instructinos and the files So far everythin is working fine although I haven't try the arm install as yet. Either way my GPS is working fine. I connected with 8 satelites just sitting in my living room!
