Root Rooting HTC Evo V with a Mac

Hey guys,

First of all let me begin by saying this is my first post here, so if i do things wrong or place this in he wrong forum section, please forgive me, and hello!

I have an HTC Evo V 4G on the Virgin Mobile (sorta sprint) network and I want to root it. I have tried to use the Newbie guide, to no avail. The problem is I kinda bad at all this stuff and I have a Mac, which makes trying to do PC things on a Mac rather difficult, if anybody can help me out that would be awesome!

Make a live Linux usb stick or cd. Boot into that. Follow instructions on unlimited.io

Welcome. I did move this thread to the All Things Root area, just in case a Mac user who has rooted this device will spot it for you.
