Hi. I need help rooting my htc wildfire with 2.3.4
My phone keeps saying it has low internal memory I have downloaded the Apps 2 sd app and it helped a little but what I really need is to get rid of the crap that came preinstalled and as far as I know I have to root the phone to do this.

Check out this forum: Wildfire S - All Things Root - Android Forums

You need to find specific instructions based on your carrier (Virgin Mobile, etc...)

First step is enable s-off. Then root. I did that on my Virgin Mobile Wildfire S, and now I have much more available memory, and a lot more apps on my phone :). One step further would be custom ROM, but I haven't done that yet

htc has an unlockable bootloader and even has step by step directions on how to do this just go to htcdev.com make an account and follow the step by step directions

yes!

HTCdev - Unlock Bootloader

but it states:

BEFORE beginning the Unlock Bootloader process your product requires that you update the ROM to the version listed in the table below first,

but it does not list my Provider in the list - what should i do?

Check out your phone's part number under the battery (looks like PG76x00) and try a generic HBOOT update for that model (right column on HTC dev HBOOT update download page). I have an Asia A510e PG76100 and the generic European PG76100 HBOOT worked. Actually, the RUU gave me errors, but I was able to flash it from the SD card.
