Root Rooting Note 4 910F

My contract is finished on the 24th- yippee.
As the Note 4 will not get Nougat o/s, I am going to root the thing and get another rom on it.

Is there any problem with bootlocker on this phone ?
Will the SPen still work- not seen any mention of that on drop down lists of ckntents.???

I have seen roms that supposedly make the Note 4 like S7 Edge.
Just getting all the downloads together at this time.

Hi, are you sure the Note 4 isn't getting Nougat, it was up until last week. Phil
You could be right, I have just been back to the website and the Note 4 has disappeared from the list along with the S5.

Gregg, let me know how you get on , I am looking at the Emotion ROM, but unsure at the moment. Phil
p.s. I believe that the S Pen doesn't work on some ROM's, just a thought.

Still got some checking to do to see what rom gives S Pen features.
Phone is now mine- contract finished today. Yippee. ;):D
 
I have downloaded the Emotion rom to the Note 4, along with TWRP and Gapps(mini). Looking at various articles, I have noticed that a bootloader is part of the system now. I could do the S3, but trying to root this Note 4 seems to be a fair bit beyond me now.
 
Just watched yet another Youtube video about rooting Note 4 910F.
In it the poster never mentions bootloaders.

Hi Phil,
S-Pen is supposed to work with Emotion rom- but unsure about bootloaders . Many youtube vids never mention them- thats why I have not gone further .
XDA seem to think Kingroot is ok now, but a while ago in this forum it was a no no.

Hi Greg, I have just rooted the phone using CF-Autoroot to get rid of the bloatware for now, will probably try a new ROM later. Phil

Hi Phil,
If you have rooted your Note 4 with CF root, how do you then get TWRP on the phone to make backup ??

I did find a good video, but everytime I copied it and pasted, the wrong one was being posted.
Shutting puter down now, so anything left in memory will be gone, perhaps the correct one will turn up, when I try again, lol.

Hi, you can load TWRP before you root, rooting is extremely easy with CF, but please make sure you have the correct Autoroot file or you can brick your phone, if you are in any doubt post your model number, country and carrier and I will check for you. Come back if you need a how to on rooting, I will try to help. When you root without loading a different ROM the phone is just as it was before only you have the power to delete files and apps you wouldn't be able to otherwise. Phil

Phone is SM-N910F. On Marshmallow 6.0.1. On O2 in UK. 32 GB.
I am positive I have the right CF Root file.

Hi, just to double check the one you need is numbered 1d826ab81e5a3f0f7ee88862e4ae3b70, as I said if you need help rooting just shout, it only takes a few minutes, in fact it takes longer to write down how to do it than actually do it. Phil

I had the right file, but thanks for the check.
The vid that I wanted to put up was from xda tv chappie- in that he rooted first, then flashed twrp.
I have the Emotion rom and mini Gapps in root directory of sd card already, so will do the root tonight.
I have 2 S3's running Lineage Nougat 7.1.2. One I use when out on motorbike, cos Note 4 is too big for pocket, lol.
Where are you from ? From Wales, me.

My Note 4 is rooted, recovery on and backed up.
Phone charging at mo, but when up a bit more, I will copy backup to pc and a usb stick and then flash Emotion rom and MINI gapps.
I have chosen Mini gapps so I don't have all of google junk which I have never used before. As long as it has Playstore, I can get the rest.

The S Pen doesn't work with Emotion rom- was told somewhere that it did.
Not sure what to do about that. :(:(
 
I just kept the Samsung OS and ?de-bloated? it, it means I can run all the stuff I want including S- Pen and remove everything I don't want. Phil
